At this year’s motorcycle festival in Leonberg near Stuttgart we have shown-up at the 1/8 mile starting line with a very special concept for a bike and helmet design. Over the last months a dark design concept in bold neon noir style was born: helmade NOIR.
Inspired by movies like ‚Blade Runner‘ or ‚Ghost In The Shell‘ a race-track built Ducati 999S from the Berlin custom builder Vengine was completely reworked and together with a custom Bell Bullitt transformed into a cineastic highlight. As you would expect it from a company focussed on helmet design, the helmet is unique worldwide. The idea came from helmade’s DNA in motorsports. The expressive, two halfed eye port visor is a tribute to one of the first Formula 1 racing helmets from Bell, the Bell Star XF GP. The visor was individually manufactured out of full carbon and worked into the helmet paintwork.
The bike was throttled by Adrian Majewski alias Vengine, the custom builder himself, and compete in the International Sprint races. In this class there were less rules and limitations. That’s how the bike was built. Almost all parts are self-made and not original, ready for the 1/8 mile.
Christian Möhring from helmade about the first race start: „Since our first visit at the 101 we have glimpsed at the 1/8 mile. As a brand with roots in motorsports we wanted to compete in the 1/8 mile from day one. That we pulled this off in our third year at Glemseck together with Vengine, makes us proud. We had an awesome time in the last two years. The visitors, the hosts and the atmosphere of this event are unique.“
helmade has captured this highlight in a film concept which is quite unseen in the motorcycle scene. On an old factory area in Frankfurt the helmade team brought together what belongs together, the helmade NOIR and the matching Bell Bullitt. Eray Aydin, who was responsible for the storyline and the production, describes: ‚The film is telling the story of two opposed characters with one common goal, who are meeting in a dark mix of dream and reality. The asthetic of the film is strongly inspired by the colors and the retro future style of the neon noir genre.‘ You can find the film on our social channels.
