At helmade, we always try to push to the limits and redefine the boundaries we all have in mind when thinking about helmets and helmet design. New ways require a new thinking and behavior. The future of helmade means to envision the future of helmet design and to revolutionize the way you buy a new helmet. We’re just at the beginning of a journey on interacting with race athletes and bikers, view design and art, travel the globe to activate our imaginations and influence our direction as a young start-up - a dynamic blend of inspiring influences.
One of these inspiring influences someone from nearby brought to us. Together with product designer Dennis Johann Müller working for the German brand BRAUN we’ve created a new Open Face Helmet Design helmet design collection which clearly takes in inspiration from the world of design, lifestyle and fashion. Dennis is a designer by heart who consciously connects to the world around him. The inspiration behind all four designs is the city, an expression of his favorites of product design, soaking up the street life and style he sees in his hometown Frankfurt and in cities around the world. The wide customization options and endless color options allow you to broaden traditional street styles to both their brightest and their deepest extremes.
Dennis Johann Müller on his design work for helmade: ‚When working on this project I was thinking about the cities, the metropolis of this world. The life on the streets. Micro-moments when people stand out by wearing unique pieces of style and urban fashion. As a designer you can not work nine to five, you take your inspiration and imagination with you - on the streets. The designer brain is always on. The collection stands for all these moments but most importantly for the people. I really love the idea to walk new ways as a designer. It’s the overlap between different fields which creates the tension and let you think differently. To work on helmet designs for helmade was complete new to me but it was more than fun. A helmet is a very personal product and so close to your mind. It’s exciting to design such a unique and valuable product.‘
The design ‚City‘ is the center piece of the collection and a bold statement for your city. A loud three dimensional lettering that allows you to add depth to your helmet design and to connect with your city as never before. Available for Frankfurt, Berlin, London, Paris, Milano, Los Angeles and New York City.
The ‚Petite‘ takes in the inspiration of French fashionista and the style of Paris. Simple lines around the helmet and a small touch of difference makes this helmet design unseen. Cruising through your city in Paris style.
The idea of the ‚Popart‘ is the drive-by an art gallery in the center of the city. The rush of seeing colors pop. When the helmet shape becomes your canvas to express who you are by choosing the colors which really mean something to you.
The ‚Splash‘ hits the button of all stylish people defining their unique look, helmet to toe. Inspired by the latest streetwear style and colorful footwear, Dennis tried to transfer his passion for Nike sneakers onto this helmade design.
All helmet designs require unique handcrafting skills to paint them for you in your individual design in perfect quality. Each helmade design is hand-painted with all our passion and delivered to your home in 3 weeks time. Learn more about the handmade production process here.
We want to become a creative hub for great helmet design work which is accessible to the many all-day racers out-there. Dennis is our first designer outside the helmet industry we’ve brought onto helmade.com. The collaboration with Dennis makes us proud and we would love to continue this partnership in the near future.
